ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Coach Chari, health and fitness have been a passion of mine from very early on. As a child I loved doing Taebo with my mom & idolized my aunt who taught aerobics & always stressed the importance of nutrition. I was always cautious of what I was putting in body, my family avoided preservatives & leaned more towards whole foods as my brother was a wrestler & had to make weight. In high school I started developing some weird tendencies.  Other than chicken & tuna I boycotted most protein sources.  I quit eating sweets, started putting ice in my water,along with shaking my legs  non-stop under my desk, believing I was burning more calories by doing so. I established a really "solid" workout routine where I would workout an hour before school then an hour & half after. My main goal everyday was to burn as many calories as I could, while consuming the least amount of calories as I could. When I got to college, my "quirks" developed into active eating disorders of starving myself & purging. I limited my calorie intake to 300, ran 7 miles everyday + 2 HITT workouts. I was also being introduced to drugs & alcohol at the same time & became a functioning alcholic up until my life blew up.  I let these demons dictate my entire twenties, resulting in shattered hearts, burned bridges, countless visits to rehabs/jail/therapists/neurologists, liver failure, & my family hearing 3 times "she might not make it."  A complete loss of identity. UNTIL, someone gave me the advice to go back to what I was passionate about as a kid & see what it could do for my recoveries. So I got a job as a sales lead at a gym, started training there, & it was like someone flipped on a switch I had desperately been searching for the past 5 years. I dove ALL IN! Started tracking my macros, working out consistently, got my Personal Trainer Certification thru NASM. I found routine, structure, & sanity for the first time in 13 years. I FINALLY felt like I could WIN the battles I was fighting in my mind, even the silent ones (no longer silent)! Now it is my life's mission to help other women overcome WHATEVER struggles they are facing. I am not a counselor/therapist, I do not have any sort of certificate specializing in eating disorders. All I have is my experience & what has worked for me! I have food freedom & use exercise as a stress relief & as a tool to manage my anxiety & depression, rather than as a punishment for having that extra slice of pizza. This challenge has 2 programmed workouts, to strengthen your core (abs, hips, glutes, back) & improve balance! I will be practicing habit stacking with you in order to make your transition into a healthier way of living a breeze! This will help prepare you for tracking your macros.
